"I love to help small businesses make a BIG impact on their
staff, clients, and community."
Lisa has dedicated her life to helping others achieve personal and business success through servant leadership and values-based teaching as a Life and Leadership Coach, Certified DISC Trainer, BNI Area Director, and Co-Owner of Kelly’s Automotive Service. She has been nominated 2 times for Woman of the Year and received 2 Hall of Fame Awards by Business Network International (BNI). Kelly’s Automotive Service has won the “Best Auto Repair Shop” in the Mail Tribune’s Reader’s Choice awards 10 out of last 11 years, voted among the Top 100 Businesses to Work For in Oregon, awarded Small Business of the Year by Josephine County Grants Pass Chamber of Commerce, and Retailer of the Year Jackson County Medford Chamber of Commerce.
After many years as an advocate for victims of sexual assault in Napa, California, our family relocated to Southern Oregon. When my husband wanted to buy an automotive business we dug in. As John Maxwell would say, “Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn.”
Hence, I know what it’s like to make costly mistakes in business. I worked for free for ten years and felt like we were ripping off the business every time we took a paycheck. My mom covered our kid’s Christmas for 10 years. We allowed employees that had no business being there to stay much longer than they should have. We hired bodies to fill positions just to get by and suffered the consequences.
I began to ask myself, “What is my purpose here?” I’m not into cars, so I had to find a way to bring a little bit of me to the business and incorporate my passion for advocating for my clients and the community.
After joining a marketing mastermind group I learned some fairly good marketing skills, like newsletters, emails, and direct mail. A few years in, I took to the airwaves with commercials and figured out how I could help local nonprofits and myself at the same time. Little did I realize then how valuable this would become to our success.
We’ve now been voted the Best of the Best in our region for the last 10 years, voted one of the Top 100 places to work in the state of Oregon (thanks to our staff!), Retailer of the Year from the Medford and Jackson County Chamber of Commerce, and Small Business of the Year from Grants Pass and Josephine County Chamber of Commerce.
I am humbled to been nominated for Woman of the Year by the Grants Pass and Josephine County Chamber of Commerce and helped build 4 successful Business Networking International Chapters (BNI) from scratch, which resulted in 2 International awards.
Today I help other small business owners create an environment where their staff is productive, looks forward to contributing to a business that obviously cares about them, and is proud to be part of a successful business that contributes to the community.
Together we will create the pathway to your business success by focusing on Communication, Culture, and Community.
